A man who died after a collision with a crowd in Mexico City has been identified as a car service driver.
The collision occurred on Sunday, when an Uber driver collided with two men who were trying to cross the street, police said.
One of the men was killed, while the other was critically injured.
“There were two men trying to run over the other man, and the Uber driver ran over the first man,” said Jose Angel Hernandez, a police official in the city of San Cristobal, where the crash occurred.
Hernandez said the two men were injured in the collision.
“The Uber driver was driving in front of them, but he had to stop because of the crowd,” Hernandez said.
“Then, when the Uber car got stuck, the other two started running away.”
Hernandez added that the driver was not seriously injured.
The Uber driver’s name and the identities of the two people killed in the accident have not been released, but police said the incident is under investigation.
